Flexible, on-premises infrastructure with a subscription model – a major Channel opportunity
For many end users, moving everything into a third party, off-site (out of sight) Cloud is a step too far. Real or imagined, concerns over security, infrastructure visibility, and service and support mean that many organisations are looking for the flexibility and agility of the cloud model, but provided by some kind of an on-premises solution. To cater for this market, several of the major hardware vendors have developed an on-premises, subscription-based service, whereby the hardware is delivered to the customer, and can be upgraded as required, all for an agreed monthly fee. The infrastructure required to house the hardware is provided by an increasing number of data centre facilities vendors, who offer edge and micro data centre solutions.
For the Channel, there is a major opportunity to manage not just the initial onboarding of the customer, but also to provide the ongoing service and support for the IT hardware and/or the data centre infrastructure, all based on the customer’s premises.
With many end users starting to re-evaluate the true cost of using the public cloud, but fully committed to the benefits it can provide, the on-premises, consumption-based cloud model provides the very best of both worlds: true infrastructure flexibility, agility and scalability alongside significant cost-efficiency. Hybrid IT has a significant, new solution category and the Channel is perfectly placed to make it happen.
This SDC Channel Roundtable will bring together vendors, Channel organisations and end users to discuss the implications and opportunities of the On-Premises Infrastructure Cloud. Chaired by Channel business growth expert, Ian Luckett, the online roundtable is a must attend event for any Channel organisation wishing to understand the potential of this new hybrid IT solution. And one which is already providing significant benefits to end users and their Channel partners alike.
The SDC Channel Summit is free to attend event educating MSPs, MSSPs, System Integrators or Value Added Resellers on the outlook for channel business in 2021 and beyond.
